Winter is coming! Okay, not literally but our favorite Emmy award winning show will be gracing us with a few spinoffs. Game of Thrones is rumored to have as many as 6 prequels in various stages of development. Little information is known about 5 of the shows, but we are certainly sure about House of the Dragon!
According to IMDb, House of the Dragon is in then pre-production stage of development. Its story will follow House Targaryen back when Daenerys’ ancestors ruled Westeros, 300 years before the GoT events. This 10 episode series will eventually lead to the inevitable Targaryen civil war (referred to as the Dance of the Dragons). Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Paddy Considine and Matt Smith will star in the series, directed by Miguel Sapochnik, who directed quite a few GoT episodes.
The story is executively produced by saga author George R.R. Martin, and will premiere on the American pay television network owned by WarnerMedia Studios, HBO. The first season is 10 episodes and expected to air in 2022. Make sure you set time aside to rewatch any GoT episodes you love! And if you haven’t watched the series, stream all 8 seasons exclusively on HBO Max.
