Ice Cube will pull out all stops to make Friday 4 happen. In the past, he’s admitted that Warner Bros rejected two potential scripts for the fourth installment.
During his appearance on N.O.R.E and DJ EFN’s Drink Champs, Ice Cube unveiled
“I’m trying to get it out of Warner Brothers. They don’t believe in the culture man. I had two scripts. I wrote one; it was the shit. They was like, ‘Yo, we don’t want Craig and Day-Day in jail, ’cause Craig and Day-Day went to jail for selling weed before it was legal!”
Last month, it was reported that Ice Cube is battling it out with the film company for rights to the Friday franchise. He asked the studio to “do the right thing” on Mike Tyson’s Hotboxin podcast.
He said, “They need to do the right thing, get it to us, let us turn it into more money, and make the fans happy. We can do a lot with it.”
Ice Cube recently told TMZ he wouldn’t take legal action despite this riff.
“You got to use the same IP. So, you can’t call it Saturday without using Craig and Day Day,” he clarified.
“No, ain’t gonna sue nobody,” he continued.
The first Friday film debuted in 1995. Then the following two films, Next Friday and Friday After Next, dropped in 2000 and 2002.
