Scarlette Johanson (Black Widow) gave her honest thoughts on the love story. When asked about how the controversal couple “never getting their happy ending and ending up together” she responded
I think that they made a choice that was for the greater good. I think everybody must have had that, where… it’s just not the right time. It just wasn’t really meant to be, but I would love to do the other storyline where they have some Bogart and Bacall romance.
Well, that sounds like an idea for the Marvels…What If? episodes. But as far the main MCU continuity is concerned, that “aint it sis”! Bruce and Natasha’s relationship was tried for Avengers: Infinity War, but it just didnt work out. The scences were cut out of the final product and the love birds were kept separate, close to no parts together. The five-year gap between Infinity War and Endgame decided to just drop it, agreeing the two are definitely better off as friends.
