Following McDonald’s the recent end of their longtime successful artist collaboration with Travis Scott, the dominant fast food chain moved on to their newest artist collaboration with J Balvin. This collaboration is similar to that of Travis Scott in that McDonald’s is launching a limited time special menu and meal under J Balvin’s name as well. The J Balvin Meal features a Big Mac with no pickles, fries with ketchup, and an oreo McFlurry for dessert.
While McDonald’s collab with J Balvin is only its second celebrity artist collab with an artist’s name on the menu since 1992, Balvin is not new to collaborations with other brands. He spoke about how this one carries emotional and cultural significance. Growing up in Colombia, he was not used to going to McDonald’s except when he was visiting the US. When he would visit the US as a child, he would always get excited to eat McDonald’s and would always order the same meal from childhood until now. This meal was what is now the meal under J Balvin’s own name. His signature meal will now be a staple meal available all over the US representing his childhood nostalgia and cultural connection to America. The meal will be available for the next month up to November 1st!
