Everyone’s favorite comedian is back in a Netflix original entitled Dad Stop Embarrassing Me! Academy and Golden Globe winning Jamie Foxx, well known for his irncedibible versatility, is the creator of this new hit series. While he did create and star in the episode comedy, he credits a great deal of the success to his daughter Corinne Foxx, who is the producer.
The sitcom follows the relationship of cosmetic brand owner Brian Dixon (Foxx) who recalibrates his life after his daughter Sasha Dixon (Kayla-Drew) moves in. Through laughter and tears, Brian works hard on ensuring the positivity of his relationship with his daughter. I’m sure this movie mirrors a great deal of Foxx’s personal life, as his daughter spent a chunk of time in the spotlight.
In a recent interview with ESSENCE, Jamie says “She’s so smart and when we were talking about Dad, Stop Embarrassing Me, to do it as a television show and to have her produce it — it’s just poetic.” He adds, “So she’s been very instrumental in making the show what it was.”
