Lifetime and A&E have teamed up to create a two-part documentary highlighting the iconic R&B musician Janet Jackson. The documentary will speak about Jackson’s childhood, relationship with her father, artistry, equally iconic brother Michael Jackson, role as a mother, and more. According to the trailer, this documentary has been in the works for five years. It also includes raw footage that never made it to the public eye.
Other musicians taking part in the documentary are Teyana Taylor, Missy Elliott, Mariah Carey, Q-Tip, and Janelle Monae, to name a few. The flick, titled Janet Jackson, premieres on Friday, January 28th at 8 p.m. ET for part one, and part two will air the following night.
Janet Jackson also had a documentary released in November via Hulu. The Dressing Down of Janet Jackson went into her wardrobe malfunction at the 2004 Super Bowl halftime show. It also speaks on how this mistake caused a plummet in her career.
