Since the 1990s, Jerry Seinfeld has been an icon in the entertainment industry. His hit television series Seinfeld ran for eight seasons before coming to an end, becoming one of the greatest television shows of all time at the same time. He is also notorious for his work on the film Bee Movie, a film about a bee who falls in love with a human woman that has developed into a cult classic since its release in 2007. As bizarre as that plot may sound though, the legendary comedian has come up with a new project that might be just as intriguing. Seinfeld has teamed up with Netflix for his new project Unfrosted, a movie about Pop-Tarts.
Comedians definitely need to think creatively and outside of the box to be successful. Jerry Seinfeld is seemingly no stranger to that, making a living off of comedy for several decades now. Unfrosted is an excellent example of that with the project being based off of a stand-up bit the comedian had done about the breakfast pastry. In it he questioned how the classic snack was created, theorizing about its shape and construction came to be decided. Now something that started as a joke has exploded into an entire project, with Netflix winning the battle for the rights to produce and distribute the film.
Jerry Seinfeld is certainly no stranger to Netflix. His series Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee has been hosted on the Netflix platform since 2017 along with two stand-up specials he did for the streaming giant. Netflix also recently acquired the rights to the aforementioned series Seinfeld to begin streaming later this year, essentially making it the comedian’s home for the immediate and coming future. We will have to wait and see what else he has in store, but until then remain on the lookout for further updates about Unfrosted.
