BC Coroners Service report August 2017 death of stunt performer Joi Harris as an accident.
Global News reported the incidence that resulted in the death of Joi Harris an accident where she lost control of her motorcycle and crashed into a nearby window. Investigations found that Harris wasn’t wearing a helmet during the accident which resulted in Harris’ severe head injuries soon after leading to her death.
The incident happened near Vancouver’s Jack Pool Plaza on what was her first stunt performance serving as a double for Zazie Beetz’s Domino. Harris was also a professional motorcycle road racer and was the first African-American woman to be licensed as such.
Producers of ‘Deadpool 2’ were fined a $289,562 penalty for failure to provide a safe workplace for Joi Harris. The fine was imposed on TCF Vancouver Productions LTD by WorkSafeBC.
