Back in the 2000s, Kelly Rowland was apart of an iconic female R&B group, Destiny’s Child. Until this day, Beyoncé and Kelly are a close-knit pair. They’re so close that Kelly has gone on to do business with Beyoncé in the past. However, it seems like Rowland will take their business relationship further because, in an interview with The Associated Press, Kelly Rowland unveils that she has a new management deal with Roc Nation. She also spoke about her independence as an artist, her latest single “Coffee,” and her forthcoming project.
“I’m very excited about this album. I’m excited for the fact that the years that it took me to find the tempo,” Kelly told The Associated Press. “The whole album’s not up-tempo, but I’m excited to share my tempo. I feel like I always had mids and slower records, but yeah, I’m ready to dance. Especially when we come out of all this, we need to dance.”
Before her next question, Rowland said that her album is almost complete, but she needs to work on one more song. About her new partnership with Roc Nation, Rowland added, “It’s family, and it just happened. It just really happened to work, and it’s working out well so far.” She then followed with this comment, “My team, I have a great team. It’s not to say I didn’t have a great team before; I had a great team before. You evolve, you move on, and that’s it, and Roc Nation is home now.”
