Hollywood has made its way Virginia this week! The series Swagger based on the earlier years of Kevin Durant’s life began filming in Hopewell, Virginia. City Park, the 6th Avenue Marvin Neal Bridge, and First Baptist Church were a few places where the magic began with road closures surrounding the sites. This series is inspired by Kevin Durants earlier years, beginning with his experiences in AAU basketball. Swagger will help shed light on what its like to pursue ones passions, navigate life on and off the court, while growing up in America.
Fans have had the pleasure of knowing Kevin Durant as an iconic NBA basketball player for the Brooklyn Nets. With his episodic series ‘Swagger, the audience will be able to get an inside look at where it all began. We will see the twists and turns, ups and downs, and opportunism and corruption from coaches– leading to Durants overall success.
This series will have a stellar cast with Oscar nominee Quvenzhané Wallis set to lead, alongside O’Shea Jackson Jr. It is written and directed by Bythewood, and executive produced by Durant. James Seidman will serve as the Imagine executive on Swagger, while Sarah Flynn will serve as executive for Thirty Five Ventures. The drama is co-produced by Imagine TV Studios and CBS TV Studios.
The show is set to air on AppleTV streaming services with a unknown date, but we are all looking forward to seeing what’s in store.
