Quibi, an upcoming mobile streaming service, is said to be in the process of developing a new comedy-action series called Die Hart. Ironically, Night School star Kevin Hart is set as one of the main characters in the show and will be acting alongside John Travolta. It turns out this will be his first debut, following a four-year hiatus. The last time Travolta hit the small screens was when he starred in The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story (2016).
Die Hart drew inspiration from Kevin Hart’s opening in his film back in 2016 called What Now? The new series explores a comedian who’s tired of being put on the sidelines. Luckily, his prayers are answered once a famous director offers him a leading role in an action piece. But there’s something he must do first: train at a prestigious action school. Along the way, Hart comes to find out that his coach (John Travolta) might be a mad-man! Ultimately, Hart must go with the motions and is tested against demands from action-packed yet humorous sequences.
Eric Appel will direct Die Hart while Tripper Clancy and Derek Kolstad will pen the script.
The production for Die Hart will take place on February 10th, 2020.
