What inspired you to do music? — What inspired me to do music is seeing how the artists that I listen to who have helped me through the toughest times in my life really help people and save people through their music. That’s something that I thought was really powerful and could give me purpose in my life, to help people through my art.
What would you say is your biggest accomplishment thus far as an artist? — I’d say my biggest accomplishment would have to be when a fan of my music DM’d me and told me how my music spoke to him and helped him chose to not commit suicide. I’d say that was the biggest accomplishment as an artist and in my life in general.
What is your writing process like? – My writing process goes off how I feel and what I have been going through. Whatever my emotions are, I try to find a beat that matches my emotion and think of some flows to the beat, then I begin to write to the flows I come up with. Everything I write means something to me which often leads me to take my time in verses and carefully coordinate everything I say.
Describe your music style — I describe my music style as a unique subversion of genre, blending Rock, Hip Hop, Indie, and Alternative. It’s a mixture of singing and rapping channeling influence from lyrical and trap hip hop, alongside Rock and emo bands. I wear my heart on my sleeve singing often dark and personal lyrics to connect with my listeners who seek comfort in me.
What are the pressures of being a singer in the industry? – The pressures of being a singer in the industry is utilizing your platform the right way. I feel like I would have a pressure to utilize my platform the right way and for the right purpose. But for me I’d have an even bigger pressure to utilize it correctly because that’s the reason I do this.
What is the motivation behind “Don’t Let Me Go” — My motivation for it was at the time of writing the song I was going through a breakup and I wanted to create a song about me feeling unloved, lonely, and depressed because of the cruelty of people that I care about leaving me. I have this issue of caring so deeply about people that when I get hurt from them, it hurts me incredibly even though It never surprises me anymore being how often this happens to me.
What projects do you have coming up? — I have a concept project coming out in a couple months that I have been working on that’s working to be my best boy of work that tells a story over the course of an album. Its called “Love Me Like I’m Dead”
What do you want your legacy to be? — I want my legacy to be an artist from Jersey city who saved millions with his art.
