The first set of performers for the 2025 BET Awards has been revealed, and it’s stacked with some heavy-hitting performers. Leon Thomas and Teyana Taylor are now confirmed to hit the stage and will join the stage with GloRilla, Lil Wayne, and Playboi Carti. Set to air live on June 9 at 8 PM EST from the Peacock Theatre at L.A. Live in Los Angeles, this year’s show marks the 25th anniversary of the BET Awards and promises an unforgettable night full of music and celebration.
GloRilla has the most nominees, earning six nominations, including Album of the Year for GLORIOUS, Best Female Hip-Hop Artist, and Best Collaboration. Lil Wayne is also set to perform and is said to preview some tracks from Tha Carter VI, which is expected later this summer. Whether he’ll debut something new or revisit his classic hits remains unknown.
Playboi Carti, fresh off the release of his new album MUSIC, is another big name on the list. The album has been one of the year’s most talked-about drops, and fans are eager to see what kind of energy Carti brings to the stage, especially with more music possibly on the way.
As for nominations, Kendrick Lamar leads the show with ten nods, including Video of the Year, Album of the Year, and Best Male Hip-Hop Artist. Drake, Future, Doechii, and GloRilla each follow with six. The Viewer’s Choice category features popular tracks like Chris Brown’s “Residuals” and Latto’s “Brokey.”
