On Friday (September 27th) Lil Nas X announced on his Twitter account that he will be taking a break from music.
To add, Nas also says that he will be canceling two of his upcoming shows.
Here, the tweet reads “It’s been a wild last 7 months and I’m ready to take a little time off. Sorry to everyone attending Twitchcon or The Sandbox music festival, I will not be there,”
As a peace-offering, Lil Nas X says to fans that’ll he will make it up ‘some way’ at the end of his tweet.
This news comes about after Lil Nas X’s “Panini” officially went platinum. Rumor has it, that singer, Fiona Apple plays a part in Nas X’s hiatus from music also. Recently, she accused the genre-defying artist of sampling her 2012 track, “Ever Single Night,” and requested compensation.
Taking it to Instagram, she says “Lil Nas X – you’re probably really great, but – you used my song ‘Every Single Night’ too. You sampled that song, too, in a song called ‘Kim Jong Un,’ I think,” Apple stated, before asking the 20-year-old rapper, “Where’s my money, you cute little guy? Where’s my money?”
No lie, we hope to see Lil Nas X continuously thrive. For now, we’ll take our horse to the old town road like his breakout single, “Old Town Road” suggest.
