Lil Nas X has officially dropped his highly anticipated single, “MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name).” The song attests to his multi-faced artistry as he sings over a pop-ridden instrumental about being available for someone he’s got a liking for. The song is assisted by an otherworldly (and peculiar) music video that finds him being seduced by an alien version of himself. Afterward, it seems like he’s been captured and taken to a Greek-inspired community. Suddenly, he blacks out from a rock hitting him and weaves his way between heaven and hell before giving the Devil an intimate show.
Yesterday, Lil Nas X went on Twitter and unveiled that he “waited nine months to drop” the track because it’s his baby. He further explained that this new single, “We will begin a new era! see u guys there.”
