Over the course of Hollywood history, moviegoers have been witness to an incredibly diverse array of films. From sci-fu epics such as Star Wars to hilarious comedic offerings such as The Hangover, the creative minds at the helm of the film industry have left virtually no crevice untouched. Even as more time passes though they manage to continuously churn out refreshingly new and original ideas without allowing things to become completely stale, which is a true testament to their creativity if anything. Now arguably one of the most original franchises is back for another installment, with Saw X, the tenth film in the iconic Saw franchise, wrapping up filming earlier this week to the pleasure of devoted fans.
Originally debuting in theaters back in 2004, the Saw franchise quickly established itself as one of the most interesting franchises in all of horror. Revolving around a calculated killer who put his victims through torturous punishments as a twisted form of redemption, the jarring new franchise caught the attention of moviegoers quickly and cemented its place in Hollywood rather quickly. The franchise quickly expanded from one film to seven by the time Saw 3D released in 2010, and also saw the release of two spin-off films which released in theaters in 2017 and 2021 respectively. But now Lionsgate is aiming to make a return to the original story which helped the French use reach critical acclaim in the first place with the impending release of Saw X this October. While other details about the project remain sparse at this time this news is certain to excite longtime fans of the franchise who have been anticipating this project for many years now, and those fans can mark off October 27th on their calendars as the official date that Saw X is set to debut in theaters.
While most may not realize it, the horror genre is quite possibly the most creative in all of film. The producers and directors at the helm of these films are forced to get creative in the hopes of protecting the authenticity of their genre, and time and time again they do exactly that. The Saw franchise is arguably amongst the most creative as well, and if this film is going to live up to the expectations then fans are virtually guaranteed that the cast and crew behind Saw X are going to get as creative as they ever have before. Eager fans will just have to remain patient until the project debuts in theaters this October to find out for themselves.
