Time to make money moves.
Meek Mill is just one of many artist’s making strategic business deals outside of music (i.e. Jay-Z, Rihanna etc.). The Philadelphia native announced Wednesday (June 26) that he is now the co-owner of the popular hat retail company Lids.
In a recent statement, Meek spoke highly of the retailer and exclaimed his excitement.
“I’ve always been a fan of Lids. Growing up, I remember buying their hats to match my outfits and look my best,” Meek says in a press release. “It’s amazing to see my relationship with the brand come full-circle and have the opportunity to evolve as a businessman. We have a great team in place and we’re looking forward to taking Lids to new heights.”
The Lid’s family is also excited to have Meek join the team. The co-founder and partner of Lids’ Lawrence Berger spoke highly of the Championships rapper. “It’s truly a pleasure to welcome Meek to the Lids ownership team,” he stated. “From afar, I’ve respected Meek’s zeal for music and criminal justice reform, and I know that enthusiasm will translate to our work with Lids. His business acumen, passion for fashion and creative outlook will be vital to making us a more versatile brand.”
It looks like Meek will be a having a prosperous summer. With newly teased music, and his recent announcement to tour with Future…yeah, it’s LIT!
