Adult Swim has decided to part ways with the animated comedy series, Mike Tyson Mysteries, after only running four seasons.
During a sit-down with The Modern Moron Podcast, staff writer Larry Dorf confirmed that the decision to cancel the series was made at the beginning of the year. He also unveiled that he and some other talents from Mike Tyson Mysteries have pitched a new series to Warner Bros. Animation.
“Well, I was a writer for Mike Tyson Mysteries,” Dorf said during the podcast. “Mike Tyson Mysteries is not a show anymore. It’s been canceled. … It was very fun. It was a funny show, but it’s all done.”
The series sees the titular boxer/actor team up with the Marquess of Queensberry’s ghost, his fictional adopted daughter Yung Hee and an alcoholic man-turned-pigeon. Together, they solve mysteries around the world in a satiric mix of Hanna-Barbera productions and Ruby-Spears’ Mister T. However, most episodes ignore their central mystery or leave them on major cliffhangers never resolved.
The fourth season of Mike Tyson Mysteries can be streamed on Hulu.
