The beloved basketball video game NBA 2K announces a lineup of songs on their playlist every year. And for next year, it seems like they’re following the same format. For their upcoming game, the creators have called on Travis Scott, Megan Thee Stallion, Freddie Gibbs, Gunna, Metro Boomin, Saweetie, Skepta, Smino, and more to be added to this said list. In addition, NBA 2K has a new feature that spotlights new music from upcoming musicians.
Speaking of this, the upcoming tracks will be heard in their “First Fridays” series. Additional songs will be added to this segment every Friday. Later on, expect updates from NBA 2K. They’re giving everyone the scoop about what’s coming next.
“We’ve built NBA 2K to be one of the gold standards for video game soundtracks,” says David Kelley, Senior Manager, Partnerships & Licensing at 2K.
This year, the opportunity to evolve the experience for players by creating moments where we can debut and share incredible new music is another step toward how we are bringing together the real-world of basketball culture with our game through music, not only through well-known artists but also providing our players an opportunity to get in the game and showcase their talents.”
Moreover, there is a 2K Beats Pack in the game. In turn, the 2K community can utilize them to make their own songs. The 2K Rising artists compilation features Boldy James, Griselda, Blxst, Princess Nokia, and Masego.
