Nas is back with his new “Spicy” visual, taking to the New York City streets alongside A$AP Ferg and Fivio Foreign. The record is fresh off of Nas and Hit-Boy‘s collaborative project King’s Disease, which offers a revitalizing return for the hip-hop icon. The LP also features collaborations from Big Sean, Lil Durk, The Firm, Don Toliver, and more.
The video captures the three stars performing in Washington Heights, New York City outside a bodega and popular restaurant Sweet Chick, the latter of which is referenced in the lyrics. The Jack Begert-directed clip also features a brief moment where Nas is seen sporting a Dominican flag face mask, which is fitting to the allusion to Dominican slang when he sings, “Qué lo que? Everybody pricey / Cost money, beat the charge money (uh) / Fast money, push to start money (uh) / Large money, Escobar money (lil’ bitch).” For those who aren’t familiar, “que lo que,” is Dominican for, “whats good.”
In the famous words of Fivio Foreign, the visuals for “Spicy” are a whole movie. Nas steps out in a white mink, a group of dirt bike riders leave the streets in flames, and features short cameos by AZ and Cormega.
Set to a hard hitting, old-school-type beat, “Spicy,” allows Nas to talk his sh*t just like the old days while still offering a modern twist.
