Netflix has officially acquired Melissa McCarthy-led drama film The Starling for a reported $20 million deal, according to Deadline. The movie, which is penned by Matt Harris, sees a married couple dealing with grief following a horrible tragedy. While the husband leaves to grieve elsewhere, the wife stays home to care for the garden he built for her in the backyard. However, an enormous black starling has taken up space nearby. The storyline will follow Lily’s attempts to get rid of the bird and her taking advice from a psychiatrist-turned-vet.
The Starling also stars Daveed Diggs, Skyler Gisondo, Loretta Devine, Laura Harrier, Rosalind Chao, and Kimberly Quinn.
