The magic has seemingly never ended for one popular children’s series which will air its final season this year: Netflix has officially announced that the 24th and final season of the beloved Pokémon cartoon will be released via the streaming giant this year.
Many of us can remember watching the original Pokémon cartoons that followed Ash Ketchum on his path to becoming Pokémon champion. These cartoons popularized many of the popular characters that come to most people’s minds when they think of Pokémon, like the beloved yellow mouse Pikachu. While Ash has come light years since we were first introduced to his character way back in 1997, and it looks like we will finally get to see how his journey will end. Netflix, who acquired the rights to the animated series of Pokémon last April, announced this week that the final season of the Pokémon series, Pokémon: Master Joureys, will release this year on the streaming platform.
Pokémon has been on a tear in recent years since the release of their wildly popular smartphone game, Pokémon Go. Now anyone from children to young adults could catch Pokémon in their own neighborhood, truly bringing fans into the world of Pokémon like never before. The Pokémon animated series has been running for over 1000 episodes now, making it one of the longest running animated series to date, however it is seemingly time to bring Ash Ketchum’s story to a close. While no official release date has been announced yet, fans can remain on the lookout for the final season of Pokémon later this year.
