Netflix has announced the release date for Philadelphia filmed movie, Concrete Cowboy. Netflix announced that the movie will be available for streaming on April 2, 2021. Concrete Cowboy was originally filmed in 2019 and originally released in 2020 when it premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival.
Concrete Cowboy is not your average western film, you will recognize one of the main characters, Idris Elba. Idris plays one of the main characters, Harp who is father to Cole, played by Caleb McLaughlin. In the movie, troubled 15-year-old Cole is sent to live with his estranged father in Philadelphia and learns about the local urban cowboys.
Rotten tomatoes critics consensus describes the movie as, “Well-acted and solidly directed, Concrete Cowboy lassos old-fashioned uplift with its story of a father and son in a little-seen corner of American culture.” Based on the synopsis of the movie, it can be assumed that Cole learns a valuable lesson of watching the company that he keeps while navigating through the urban streets of Philadelphia. Netflix released the new artwork for the movie which included the subtitle, “You are who you ride with.” Be sure to check out this movie when it rides out to Netflix on April 2nd.
