According to The Hollywood Reporter, Netflix’s upcoming social media thriller Clickbait, has added some stars to their crew list. The crew now includes actresses, Zoe Kazan and Betty Gabriel, along with actors, Adrian Grenie and Phoenix Raei . Clickbait will explain the uncontrolled impulses that come from social media and how it alters both virtual and real-life personas.
Kazan plays as Pia Brewer, a young woman from Oakland, California who’s desperately looking for her missing brother in a case that turns into a media sensation while Gabriel (Sophie Brewer), struggles to keep her family together in the midst of this. On the other hand, Grenie’s (Nick Brewer) perfect life takes its toll when he’s tied into the case. Raei will play Oakland Detective Roshir Amin. Her role entails investigating the well-known case.
Clickbait is being produced by NBC Universal International Studios, Tony Ayres Productions and Heyday Television. For the first time in history, a Netflix original will be produced in the Australian state of Victoria.
Clickbait has yet to give a release date.
