Wild’ N Out creator/host Nick Cannon has dropped the first single off his upcoming project Raw N B The Explicit Tape. Making music is not new to Cannon, who released his first project in 2003. However, R&B is a new genre he’s diving into because he’s primarily been in his rapping bag.
About his upcoming project, he said,
“This is the gospel of my broken soul – this is as raw as it gets.”
The song, called “Weekend Girl,” finds Cannon singing over a slowed-down version of Ne-Yo‘s “U 2 Luv (feat. Jeremih).” Given the lyrics, the comedian speaks about an independent woman who can only give him TLC between Friday-Sunday.
He says, “Her Man Crush Monday, I can’t be it no more/Tuesday blues/Wednesday she went ghost/Throwback Thursday lookin’ juicy on the pole/Now, she’s my weekend girl.”
The song closes with Cannon giving listeners a background story about their situationship. Although he’s only limited to spending three days a week with her, the star intends on making each moment count.
