Jeane Marie is a woman of all sorts. Not only is she a top-notch vocalist, but she also dabbles in acting and entertainment. Radiating in pure confidence, Jean Marie became the voice for women’s empowerment at just 14-years-old. In like manner, she debuted her book, Footsteps to Confidence a while ago. She said during an interview, “I want my story and everything I do to empower people to love themselves, and know you can be anything you want. You just have to follow your dream.” She also uses her fluency in English, Arabic, Portuguese and Spanish to uplift Palestinian refugees in Lebanon, Girl Scouts all over the US, and at-risk girls in a Miami prison-reform programs.
Jean Marie started singing at three-years-old and continued to push through. By college, she realized that she didn’t want to work for anyone, so she started recording music. In an interview with Vocal Media, she said, “I’ve tried so many things in life, and I feel the happiest when I sing. Singing increases serotonin levels and prevents anxiety. It is my creative release but also keeps me mentally balanced.”
Amid COVID-19, many things have been put on halt, including performances and new releases from both emerging and mainstream artists. But that hasn’t stopped this female powerhouse from putting in the time for a new hit. Her collaborative track “QNC (Quarantine N Chill)” with Nico, meshes a sultry, tropical soundscape with xylophone riffs, open hi-hats, and a booming bassline. Nico crossovers between rapping and auto-crooning, whereas Jeane Marie displays a vigorous and soothing vocal register. Between lyrics, Nico expresses his infatuation with a 10 out of 10 female. Then, about how he’s willing to go the distance for his love. He urges her to “kick it for the week and be my quarantine queen,” despite the social distancing rule. Likewise, Jean Marie takes a bold approach to her lyrics. She sings about wanting her man to stay for a while and not just a day. She wants them to make use of their time and even suggests that he “pull up and possess this body like voodoo.” Since everything is closed temporarily, the two come up with other ways to spend their days with bae.
