Nicholas Cage’s new Dracula film isn’t meant to be seen by adolescents or pre-teens. Instead, the horror movie has been stamped with an R rating because it’ll contain “bloody violence, some gore, language throughout, and some drug use.”
The announcement echoes Robert Kirkman’s comments about the film. In an interview, he characterized it as “fun” and “extremely violent.”
The movie Renfield stars Nicholas Hoult, Awkwafina, Nicolas Cage, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Ben Schwartz, Adrian Martinez, and Bess Rous.
The synopsis reads
“Dracula’s titular henchman has grown sick and tired of the centuries he has worked as the dark prince’s lackey.
He finds a new lease on life when he falls in love with a feisty, perennially angry traffic cop.”
Renfield premieres in theaters on April 14th, 2023.
