Noname has decided to postpone her album’s release, adding that she might retire from the music biz. The project, titled Factory Baby, has been in the works since she dropped “Rainforest.” The theme behind Factory Baby is said to dive into her mentality and societal activism. She’s been hinting at the LP’s release since February 2021.
But, the “Song 22” star has decided to pump the brakes on Factory Baby. She explained that she’s not connecting with any production and has been uninspired lately.
On Instagram live, she got into further detail
“Most days, I’m not sure if I’ll ever make music again. The last time I was consistently making songs was four years ago. It’s been so hard to find producers to link up with and who I genuinely connect with sonically. I’m truly grateful for the art I was able to release, but that might be it from me. Like, it shouldn’t be this hard. No lie this sh*t actually makes me incredibly sad and I rarely leave the crib these days. I don’t want to keep lying and saying there’s an album on the way when there’s not. I’m sorry I’ve led y’all on. I wanted to believe things would change but they haven’t.”
Aside from music, she’s acknowledged for her book club, which donates free reading materials to incarcerated individuals and community-based aid. So maybe that’s what she’ll focus on heavily? Either way, we send our best wishes to the femcee regarding her mental health.
