One of the most bizarre scenes from Venom: The Last Dance has been officially released. According to Comic Book Movie, an extended version of what critics call “the wackiest scene” has been released by Sony Pictures. In the scene in question, the Lethal Protector meets Mrs. Chen in Las Vegas. Venom randomly breaks out an extensive amount of dance moves, resulting in Xenophage going to their location and everyone being captured by Imperium. Ultimately, the extended version sees Mrs. Chen and Venom incorporating more cooky dance moves as the villainous figure makes his way to the top of the venue.
Peggy Lu, who plays Mrs. Chen in the film, spoke about the choreography and how she was experiencing an injury at the time to Variety.
“I worked with the choreographer, the same choreographer as Barbie, Jennifer White, and she is amazing,” she stated. “I’m not a dancer, as the fans will be able to know when they see me on the big screen dancing. I am not a dancer, and she has so much patience, and I’m a little bit of a perfectionist.”
Peggy continued: “Sometimes I forget to point my toes, and she’s going, ‘Oh no, that’s all right. We’ll keep working on it,’ and that’s how nice she was. I also have an injury on my left knee; my ACL has been replaced so that she would do the choreography according to my injuries, and I can’t turn very well. Because my left knee tends to go sideways, not forwards and backward, sideways, especially after I jump and land, and it’ll just go sideways.”
“In Venom: The Last Dance, Tom Hardy returns as Venom, one of Marvel’s greatest and most complex characters, for the final film in the trilogy,” the logline states. “Eddie and Venom are on the run. Hunted by both of their worlds and with the net closing in, the duo are forced into a devastating decision that will bring the curtains down on Venom and Eddie’s last dance.”
Venom: The Last Dance is based on a script written by Kelly Marcel and Tom Hardy. In addition to Hardy, the film stars Chiwetel Ejiofor, Juno Temple, Rhys Ifans, Peggy Lu, Alanna Ubach, and Stephen Graham. Marcel, Hardy, Amy Pascal, Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, and Hutch Parker produced the movie. The third Venom is Marcel’s first directorial debut. She’s written the last two scripts for Venom in the past.
