Oprah Winfrey is one of the most influential figures in all of history. She’s famously known for her talk show, The Oprah Winfrey Show, which was the highest-rated television program and ran for 25 years from 1986 to 2011. Aside from this, she’s a figure who stays calm, cool, and collected. However, more recently, Oprah had to put a negative accusation to rest.
On Twitter, one person penned, “I don’t care what no one says @Oprah never gave a pluck bout #BlakeLivesMatter. It’s all about money and power.” This tweet was a response to Oprah’s “Where Do We Go From Here?” special, which aired earlier this week.
Sometime after, the tweet became viral and propelled Oprah to respond. “You know my heart, do you?” asked Oprah. Needless to say, Oprah is a full advocate for justice. Down the timeline, Winfrey was awarded the NAACP Image Award Hall of Fame (1983) and the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Barack Obama (2013).
