Following the week debut of Andy Samberg-led sci-fi romantic comedy latest film, Palm Springs, IndieWire reports that the film has broken a new streaming record on Hulu by earning the biggest opening weekend than any other movie on the platform.
Surprisingly, this isn’t the first time that the film had broken a record. Down the timeline, Palm Spring was the most expensive movie deal that came out of Sundance with Hulu and NEON, earning the film’s distribution rights for $17.5 million.
The movie follows a carefree male named Nyles and a reluctant maid of honor named Sarah. The two meet at a Palm Springs wedding, and things get complicated when they find themselves unable to escape the venue, themselves, and each other.
Palm Springs is directed by Max Barbakow and written by Andy Siara.
