You know how we mentioned Pixar’s movie, Soul would release during the summer back in March? Well, as it turns out, the date for the movie’s release was slated due to the ongoing pandemic. But don’t fret because The Walt Disney Company announced today that the film will debut exclusively on Disney+ on December 25, 2020.
“We are thrilled to share Pixar’s spectacular and moving ‘Soul’ with audiences direct to Disney+ in December,” said Bob Chapek, Chief Executive Officer, The Walt Disney Company. “A new original Pixar film is always a special occasion, and this truly heartwarming and humorous story about human connection and finding one’s place in the world will be a treat for families to enjoy together this holiday season.”
Soul follows middle school band teacher Joe Gardener (Jamie Foxx), whose heart is inspired by jazz’s groove. After a fall in one of NYC’s gaping sewers, Joe visits the You Seminar, where his soul is assigned a human for a mission on earth. The film’s voice cast features Jamie Foxx, Tina Fey, Conquest, Phylicia Rasha, and others.
