The “Heart On Ice” rapper-singer is back with another hit single and a special announcement.
Florida artist Rod Wave has revealed that the release date of his sophomore album Pray 4 Love will be April 3. Pray 4 Love is the rappers second in studio album, following his 2019 debut Ghetto Gospel. This new album is set to include one of his latest bangers “Thief in the Night” and the self titled track “Pray 4 Love.”
Wave is most known for captivating audiences with his soulful vocals and easy going rap flow, accompanied by a trap type beat. On “Pray 4 Love” he further showcases his versatility by putting together a flurry of bars centered around his struggles and hardships.
As you watch the music video for the emotionally charged single, it almost feels like you too have felt the many growing pains Wave has felt being born and raised in St. Petersburg.
“Who can you trust?/In this cold, cold world, better get a blanket/It’s worse/Than the wild, wild, west shit gets dangerous,” Wave spits before moving onto his struggles as a teen.
“Momma made me feel, like I overstayed my welcome/So packed up my shit and went for self, like where’s the fellas?” he emplores over an instrumental produced by Tre Gilliam. “Ain’t no love in this shit until you get rich and famous/And these hoes want rappers or ballplayers.”
The track’s title comes from a section of the single where Wave harmonizes the phrase “I pray for love” before going back to his cadence of lyrics.
Watch the “Pray 4 Love” video as we prepare to reminisce with Wave on the difficulties of coming up as an artist backed by spiritually evoking tracks.
