A few years back, word circulated that Warner Bros. was working on a brand-new version of Little Shop of Horrors, the 1960 sci-fi comedy movie, that got turned into an off-Broadway musical, and eventually became a 1986 cult classic starring Rick Moranis, Ellen Greene and Steve Martin.
There hasn’t been talks on the Little Shop of Horrors remake ever since, but today brings us an update according to online sources Rocketman’s Taron Egerton has entered negotiations to star in the film, likely in the role of Seymour Krelborn, the dorky flower shop employee who encounters and becomes an unwitting accomplice to a man-eating Venus flytrap. They also mention that Billy Porter is being eyed to voice the flytrap, while Scarlett Johannson is being considered to play the role of Audrey, Seymour’s co-worker and love interest.
We can’t wait to hear more of this story and we’ll keep you all posted!
