Following the release of her critically-acclaimed Ugh, Those Feels Again album, Snoh Aalegra is back with an even hotter serve. For her return, the R&B songstress has delivered an emotionally compelling single, “DYING 4 YOUR LOVE.”
Produced by P2J, the moody track recounts an all-too familiar tale. This after-hours vibe is centered around yearning for a lost lover, and being faced with the difficult decision of letting them go, or pursuing them one more time. Throughout the song, Snoh soulfully delivers questions that illustrate her position in this game of love. The bass-driven instrumental is filled in with a looped vocal sample that fills in the instances of space purposefully, and perfectly placed by the singer.
“Yeah, I was dying for your love, your love. So tell me, baby, do you want me like I want you? Even if you do, you wouldn’t say, I know you. Some nights I even think about if I should call you. ‘Cause I thought you were the one,” she emotively croons.
Accompanied by a sci-fi video featuring plenty of inventive imagery, we get to see a completely different side of Snoh. While we know her to be a dainty, and delicate songstress of romance, in “D4YL,” we see a refined, sensual Snoh rise to the surface. Directed by I.P.W, the video is one her most colorful and provocative efforts to date. The new single comes after she joined Roc Nation in partnership with ARTium Recordings earlier this year.
Upon dropping the video, Snoh shared a message to thank the team behind the visuals:
