Over the last couple of months, the R&B songstress, Summer Walker has expressed that she battles with social anxiety. In fact, this treacherous disorder became so bad in November that Walker had to cancel two dozen of her U.S. tour dates. Given this, it can be assumed that fame isn’t all glitz and glamour (at least sometimes). Being in the music industry requires one to have tough skin, and Walker is a prime example of this.
Despite her project, Over It reaching No. 2 on The Billboard 200 chart in a week of its release (October 2019), and winning a Soul Train Music Award for Best New Artist, Walker went on Instagram to announce that she’ll be taking a hiatus. “lol I’m deadass never making another song after 2020” she pens over a black background.
As of now, there is no reason behind this abrupt P.S.A. Let’s hope this emerging R&B-ist is bluffing. If we’re honest here, she serves as a voice for those who can’t address sticky situation-ships or relationship issues head-on.
