Somewhere among Travis Scott rapping “Who put this sh*t together? I’m the glue” in auto-tune, Swae Lee faintly sings with repetition, “Someone said.”
These very phrases are found in “Sicko Mode,” a song that was constructed by ASTROWORLD extraordinaire, Travis Scott and OVO’s very own Drake . Along with being nominated for Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards, Scott’s “Sicko Mode” ranked as No. 1 on the Billboards Hot 100 chart. Notably, “Sicko Mode” was also the first hip hop song in history to spend at least 30 weeks in the chart’s top ten regions.
Ironically, Swae Lee’s swift yet memorable phrase in “Sicko Mode” took part in his forthcoming song’s name. After receiving a compliment on the way he sung ‘someone said,’ Swae Lee decided to make it to new heights. Now, a year later, Lee announces that he’ll be dropping an extension to his “Sicko Mode” staple on Friday.
To tease “Someone Said,” Lee posted a Triller video of himself comically dancing to a snippet of the song. Additionally, Lee unveiled the artwork on Instagram.
” 📝💌📫📰🗣🗯💭 “Someone said,” I’m dropping THIS FRIDAY !!!!! Ju HeeEEARD!!! 💬🧯🧯🧯🔊🧧📜📛” he typed in the post’s caption.
