Robert Downey Jr. has been Tony Stark aka Iron man for 10 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe films from 2008-2019. Hints to why the retirement of Robert Downey Jr had iron man fans baffled since the first mention of possibility then the confirmed permanence. But during the Dolittle press tour, Extras Renee Bargh asked the question.
Will Iron Man ever return?
The question was answered with propitious words from Robert Downey Jr. that currently has fans turning their frowns upside down.
“Yeah. Anything could happen. … As far as I’m concerned, I hung up my guns and I’m good to let it go. I also think Marvel is on this journey now and they’re trying a bunch of other stuff, and I’m excited for them to see how all that goes. It’s hard to project.”
That “anything could happen” is always a truth when it comes to Marvel Universe. Tony Stark could pop up anywhere on the scene and while that would be super surprising , we’re concerned how the return could comprise the integrity of the MCU storyline that’s finally and smoothly met closure.
Letting Iron Man go maybe a hard pill to swallow but there are some moments to look forward to in 2021. We’re getting ready to meet the Eternals standing alone and Scarlett Johansson in her solo Black Widow!
Still, wondering What If Robert Downeys Jr. were to return as Iron man? Disney+s What If…? series is said to have Roberts voice featured in the animated show, according to Jeff Goldblum (Thor’s Grandmaster). The animated show brings 23 installments, 1 to each MCU film that alters certain details of the plots from each movie.
Keep the optimism and stream into Disney+ summer 2021 to cure the curiosity!
