Collaboration has become the name of the game in today’s entertainment industry. Whether it be musical, a high-profile brand partnership, or anything in between, artists and influencers from all backgrounds have opened their eyes to the countless business opportunities right at their fingertips and embraced them fully. One artist who has done exactly that is Travis Scott, who secured deals with McDonalds, Nike and Dior all within the past year alone. His latest collaboration will seemingly be much more in line with his career in music however: Scott will be uniting forces with the production company A24 to produce a film to accompany his next album, Utopia.
A24 has established themselves as one of the eminent production companies in Hollywood today, responsible for movies such as 2016’s Moonlight and 2019’s Uncut Gems. Their next project will be a little different however as they just signed a production deal with the superstar rapper Travis Scott. Scott has been gearing up for the release of his next album Utopia, and now it has been confirmed an accompanying film will be released alongside the project. The rapper made the news official with his latest Instagram post featuring a picture of the screenplay for the upcoming film that can be seen below. Neither the album nor film has an official release date as of yet, but they may arrive sooner than many expected it seems.
Utopia will be the follow-up to Scott’s record breaking third studio album, Astroworld. That project was released back in August of 2018 however, well before the COVID-19 pandemic hit and upended the lives of everyone around the world. This has left eager fans more than eager for new music from the rapper, and now they’ll also be getting a film to go with the next album. The upcoming film will be Scott’s second, following up the 2019 Netflix documentary Travis Scott: Look Mom I Can Fly, and will accompany the release of his upcoming project Utopia, with further updates about both the album and film to come in the near future.
