Earlier this morning, Deadline reported that Drake has taken on the role of executive producer when it comes to Ready For War. The documentary focuses on the struggles that immigrant U.S. soldiers face by following their post military lives.
The film addresses three important topics including: PTSD, their treatment within the country along with the aftermath of having them deported.
Each soldier holds a green card but are still faced with threats regarding detainment by the ICE and deportation back to Mexico. It also focuses on the different treatment after they have committed a crime compared those U.S. born.
Representative Raul Grijalva released a statement to NBC News, presenting a bill titled “Veterans Visa Protection Act.”
“The American people spoke loud and clear in November they wanted action on immigration and that includes fixing the shameful practice of deporting those who served in the armed forces. Protecting veterans shouldn’t be a partisan issue.”
