During the San Diego Comi-Con, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige confirmed that Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie will be Marvel’s first openly LGBTQ+ superhero. “The answer is yes,” Feige told i09. “How that impacts the story remains to be seen with that level of representation you’ll see across our films, not in just Thor 4.”
In March, Valkyrie reemerged on social media following the release of “Captain Marvel,” but Valkyrie made her first debut in “Thor: Ragnarok” and became an instant fan favorite.
Preparing to correct their previous attempts to represent Valkyrie’s bisexuality Feige confirmed, as Thompson herself teased during Love and Thunder’s unveiling, that Valkyrie will be Asgard’s new ruler seeking out a Queen to rule alongside her.
“As new king, she needs to find her queen,” Thompson told fans in Hall H during Marvel’s panel. “That will be her first order of business. She has some ideas. Keep you posted.”
