Wale doesn’t intend on performing at the Broccoli City Festival. He unveiled that he was pulling out of the show via Twitter.
The reason stems from adhering to his self-worth. Beforehand, people assumed that Wale’s sudden withdrawal stemmed from not being the festival’s headliner. But, Wale was quick to set the record straight.
He said, “I’m not mad at all . I wish people would ask [crying laughing emoji]. I’m sure the festival will be amazing all the artist are fire. I don’t think I’ll be missed and I never cared about headlining . This ain’t that. If u gon judge me at least know what’s on my mind my guy.”
After taking in Wale’s response, a fan stepped up to the plate and asked him why he dropped out of the festival. He answered, “Respect is why.”
Thus far, the Broccoli City Festival hasn’t responded to Wale’s concerns.
The Washington, D.C. festival features musicians like 21 Savage, Ari Lennox, Lil Durk, Rico Nasty, Jeezy, Summer Walker, Gunna, Don Toliver, Wizkid, Masego, and more. It’ll run from May 7th-May 8th during Blk Change Weekend.
