Young Thug carried his performance’s impact on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and ran with it! As a result, the 300 Entertainment C.E.O teamed up with Kevin Liles to host “Hot” Battle of the Bands, a contest that invites marching bands from historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) to add their musical takes on the original track.
In October of last year, Liles and Thug unveiled that the winner would earn a hefty prize, that being $25K donated to their school’s program. Following this surprise, WXTL News announced that A&M’s Marching 100 won by a fair shot. The news station adds: “A&M’s Marching 100 is psyched to perform at the Honda Battle of the Bands in Atlanta this weekend.”
Reportedly, there’s another $20K at stake to win. If the marching band wins, they plan on utilizing the money for their band operations and instrument repairs.
