Young Thug has debuted new music since his recent release from prison.
The YSL rapper makes his comeback with the track “Dum, Dumb & Dumber,” off Lil Baby’s freshly launched album WHAM, which also features contributions from fellow Atlanta star Future. On this impactful track, produced by Wheezy, Thugger opens up about his two-and-a-half-year incarceration for the very first time.
Young Thug initially hinted at the release of “Dum, Dumb & Dumber” in November, just after he regained his freedom by reaching a plea agreement in his protracted YSL RICO case.
“Wham let’s drop one on these rats, Peter,” he tweeted on X, formerly known as Twitter, using Lil Baby’s nickname while also referencing the numerous snitching allegations that plagued the case.
In response, the 4PF boss seemed to acknowledge Thug’s message through his Instagram Stories, sharing a video accompanied by the sounds of their collaboration from 2020, “We Should.”
Lil Baby then took a moment to express his joy at Young Thug’s return, posting a heartfelt welcome home message that read
“I missed you, man! Welcome back, my brother! I’m so grateful you can reunite with your family in good health and high spirits! I wish you nothing but endless success, jack! #whatwhamsaysgoes.”
In a recent conversation with Lil Yachty on the A Safe Place podcast, Lil Baby shared a revelation about how close he was to joining Young Thug behind bars.
He disclosed, “What many people don’t realize, and something I rarely share, is that I could have been there with him. I was actually at his house just hours before his arrest. Thankfully, I left two hours ahead of time.”
“That can really mess with your mind more than anything else. It’s like, ‘Wow, I have to watch my brother go through this, and it honestly could have been me in that situation.”
He continued
“I had to completely transform my entire life. This isn’t just a colleague from the rap game for me; these are my everyday friends—people I’ve grown up with.”
Among those arrested alongside Young Thug was fellow YSL artist Gunna, who has faced numerous accusations of snitching ever since he accepted his own plea deal in late 2022, including claims made by Lil Baby.
