Guardians of The Galaxy star Zoe Saldana has given fans a sneak peek of Avatar 2, but not in the way you think. Instead of providing details about the movie, she opened up about how it made her feel.
During an interview with People Magazine, Saldana said the film gave her the waterworks.
“I can get choked up just talking about it,” Saldaña adds. “I was able to see just 20 minutes of the second installment, right before the year ended, last year, and I was speechless. I was moved to tears.”
She admitted somewhere in the interview that seeing the underwater worlds of Pandora made her emotional. Unfortunately, this scene was difficult to record for James Cameron and the Avatar team and, supposedly, a reason why the film has been delayed on numerous occasions.
Saldana adds, “Jim was finally able to crack that challenge — that whole thing that you can’t imitate water, virtually, through performance capture. That was just a challenge that he had taken upon himself, and it took him years, and he did it. He did it. It’s powerful. It’s compelling.”
The synopsis reads,
Avatar 2 will follow the next chapter in the lives of Sam Worthington’s Jake and Zoe Saldana’s Neytiri as they have now become parents. Their family’s happy and peaceful life will get suddenly upended with the return of the RDA mining operations to Pandora, who was defeated and sent back to Earth in the first film.
The cast list includes:
Kate Winslet, Edie Falco, Michelle Yeoh, Vin Diesel, Jemaine Clement, Oona Chaplin, Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Joel David Moore, Dileep Rao, Stephen Lang, Matt Gerald, and Sigourney Weaver.
