Look out, there’s a new DC superhero that’s set to be added to the 2021 – 2022 CW’s season and her name is Naomi! Naomi is written and produced by the amazing Ava DuVernay and also Jill Blankenship as co-executive producer. The CW announced its official 2021 – 2022 season line up via social media in an action packed video that can be seen here.
Naomi is based on the 2019 DC title from Brian Michael Bendis and David F. Walker. Kaci Walfall is the star of the show playing the character of Naomi. The show is described as, “Following a teen girl’s journey from her small northwestern town to the heights of the Multiverse. When a supernatural event shakes her hometown to the core, Naomi sets out to uncover its origins, and what she discovers will challenge everything we believe about our heroes.”
The CW seems to be the go to television network when it comes to superheroes. What uniquely sets Naomi apart from other DC shows on The CW is that she’s a teenage superhero! DuVernay expressed her excitement for the placement on her Twitter account stating, “NAOMI is now officially a series at @TheCW! Many hands/hearts went into bringing this saga to the screen.”
Along with the announcement the show, The CW has already created social media accounts for the show on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Make sure to follow the official page of: thecwnaomi to keep up to date with announcements.
