Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot will act as the Evil Queen in a live adaptation of Snow White, according to Variety. She’ll work alongside Rachel Zegler, who is playing the beloved princess. The classic Disney fairytale arose in 1937.
In Snow White, the Evil Queen tries to trick Snow White into eating a poisoned apple after becoming jealous of the princess’ beauty.
Marc Webb will be in charge of directing the untitled adaptation. Marc Platt will be producing alongside songwriting duo Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, who are writing new music for the movie. Production starts in 2022.
This new live adaption has been in the works since 2016. Other remakes being done now include The Little Mermaid starring Halle Bailey, Pinocchio with Tom Hanks, and Lilo and Stitch directed by Jon M. Chu.
Snow White is about an orphaned princess living with her Evil Queen stepmother, who attempts to poison her. With the help of seven dwarfs, she breaks free from the queen and ultimately lives happily ever after.
