Over the past few years, Netflix has taken the entertainment industry by storm with the plethora of new content they have introduced. Benefitting immensely from the COVID-19 pandemic which forced their millions of subscribers to spend weeks on end at home, the streaming giant has become quite possibly the predominant force in television and film with the arsenal of talent and multitude of works they have amassed in recent years. Among those many projects is the fan favorite Stranger Things, the mega-hit series that has been captivating audiences for several years now utilizing innovative otherworldly concepts that made the new series refreshingly unique. It has arguably become Netflix’s most critically acclaimed project as a result with three seasons of Stranger Things under their belt that have garnered the series a cult-like following since its inception. Now they have announced their plans for the impending fourth season of the beloved series and fans are poised to be excited to find out its being split into two parts, however that’ll seemingly be the end of Stranger Things according to the people at Netflix.
Originally debuting in 2016 when the first season hit streaming, Stranger Things takes place in a small town and centers around a group of prepubescent children who are forced to contend with forces much more powerful than themselves. The result of an experiment gone wrong that opens a portal to another dimension ruled by malicious creatures, these children are confronted with the most daunting challenge of their young lives when these creatures kidnap one of their friends and begin wreaking havoc upon their community in the most terrifying of ways. Now Stranger Things has been entertaining fans for three highly successful seasons and a fourth on the way with fans waiting nearly three years now for it, however it appears the wait is almost over. Netflix announced this week that season four of Stranger Things is set to premiere this spring, adding that the season was so packed that they were forced to split it into two parts, however fans will be equally as disappointed to find out that this will be the last we get of the memorable series. Season five, or part two of season four depending how you look at it, will be the ultimate season of Stranger Things and will bring an ending to the stories of Mike, Eleven and all of their friends. The first part of season four of Stranger Things is expected to premiere on Netflix in a few short months on May 27th, with part two following shortly after on July 1st.
While Netflix has become notorious for their original content, Stranger Things is the series that arguably started it all. It also helped propel Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard and the rest of the cast to a level of stardom unlike anything they ever possibly imagined, reaping the benefits of their hard work as fans have become more captivated with each passing season. Its safe to assume the creative minds behind the inventive series still have some tricks up their sleeve for the end of Stranger Things, and Netflix subscribers can catch the first part of season four when it hits the streaming service in May.
