Drake’s top artist on Spotify is one of hip-hop’s most treasured MCs.
His Spotify Wrapped image says
“Your top artist this year was 2Pac,” his Spotify Wrapped results revealed. “You spent 246 minutes together. You were in the top 7% of 2Pac listeners this year.”
According to his musical stats on the streaming giant, Tupac was his most listened-to artist. However, this doesn’t come as a surprise because the Her Loss musician has often expressed his admiration for ‘Pac in the past. Songs like “Fear” examine his immense love for the rapper’s lyricism. He rapped, “I never cried when Pac died/But I probably will when Hov does.”
Even though this line has often been misinterpreted, Drizzy has admitted that the lines reflected his age. Drake shouted him out in his song “4 PM in Calabasas” to show further his appreciation for the West Coast rapper in 2016 and Trouble’s “Bring It Back” in 2017. Two years ago, Drake spent $600k on a pair of Tupac-inspired Jesus pieces. Given this point, we can confidently say Drake’s an avid fan of the “Dear Mama” legend.
