Since the dawn of Hollywood, film fanatics have been introduced to a diverse array of actors and actresses who have gone on to amass ranging amounts of fame and success as a result of their careers. While the job title may be prestigious in a way, not many actors receive anything close to A-List celebrity fame for most if not all of their careers as the industry is saturated with talent and it is simply just that hard to break through. For those who do break through however, Hollywood virtually becomes their playground and they usual have their pick of the litter when it comes to new projects and scripts being shopped around the industry. This often leads to some pretty iconic castings that live on in Hollywood history, and it looks like Jenna Ortega may be on the verge of doing so herself as she is reportedly vying to star in the highly anticipated Warner Brothers project Beetlejuice 2.
Originally releasing in theaters in 1988, Beetlejuice is one of many films in Tim Burton’s lengthy résumé of imaginative films that have come to define his filmmaking style. With the plethora of reboots being produced today, it is of no surprise that Beetlejuice 2 would eventually become a subject of conversation given the cult classic status the film has amassed since its release almost four decades ago. Now it may even already have a star with young starlet Jenna Ortega reportedly hoping to score a role in the sequel, presumably the same one Winona Ryder iconically played way back when. This is also fresh on the heels of her performance in Scream VI which, combined with her work on Netflix’s Wednesday, has made her something akin to a prodigy when it comes to these type of horror style roles, and Scream VI is also a Warner Brothers film as well which means she already has an edge that most other actresses don’t. That probably isn’t a bad thing though, as this seems like the perfect casting for this film regardless of what role she may play and would ensure that Beetlejuice 2 at least has the star power to help it live up to its predecessor.
Jenna Ortega is on an incredibly hot run right now, and she doesn’t seem to be slowing down even a little bit. It seems like every other week her name is in the headlines, discussing either her work on a project or the chances of her appearing in another new project. Either way, her fans are surely happy as she continues to impress audiences across the country time and time again. While she has yet to be cast in Beetlejuice 2 yet and this remains a rumor, I’m sure nobody is going to complain if it becomes a reality in the near future.
